Jake brake is an engine brake, EU trucks use something called an exhaust brake, which pretty much blocks the exhaust flow, forcing combustion gases back into the engine. Jake brake adjusts the valvetrain to create a vacuum like you explained. Jake brake is slightly more powerful but the effect is more or less the same.

When driving Volvo FH 2012, you may notice that when you switch to automatic gearbox mode, the ratio positions show as A1, A2, A3 .etc, instead of 1, 2, 3 in the manual mode.
After updating to 1.37 & ProMods 2.46 my gearbox doesnt works no more. Playing in automatic mode and it don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ automaticly. Tried to switch the Modes of the gearbox, but nothing happens. Any Tipps apprechiated

I actually own a MAN in the game (fully upgraded). I tried reducing differential ratio for the ZF AS Tronic (the game does not provide retarder trans for MAN :( ) and guess what, I'm doing 83 MPH on 10th Gear with 2 more gears to spare :D. However, it becomes hard to turn the truck above this speed, even on a smooth corner.
I have the logitech G29 wheel, when I go through the setup for the gear shifter, I cannot use all the gears available, even though in the config screens when I move the gear shifter, the corrosponding number lights up. My config settings are; Controller - Wheel Transmission - H Shifter Normal Power Mode Range Simple + warning When I look on options/buttons page all the joy button look correct
In ETS the transmissions are all automatic or automated manual, but if you want to drive it with an H-shifter anyway then you can choose the closest matching manual shift pattern (Scania for a Scania, Volvo for a Volvo, ZF for a DAF or other trucks that use a ZF transmission, and choosing 12 vs 12+2 based on what the truck has).
Just like rl trucks you need bind a key (switch) for low/high gear change. First you use low 1-6, then press that button and you use high 1-6 (it will be 7-12). In game options - controller- activate your shifter then scroll down to shifter selection and use scs made 12 gear or download new pattern.
When i'm in the 9nd gear (for instance) and i want to shift a gear down (i pull he joystick back), the automatic transmission goes to N. When i put my joystick forward, it goes back to the 9nd gear. If i stop, and pull the joystick back, the automatic transmission goes first to N, and then to Reverse.

Low and behold, someone at SCS decided to break Real Automatic. It is as simple as that folks. But in the game I have to HOLD the gearstick foward just to drive forward now, same goes to reverse. I press the gearstick once and it briefly goes into Drive and then straight back into Neutral.
