I think the best thing about the Resident Evil franchise is that it (for the most part) can pull off a lot of different styles. The OG games are very different to 4, 5 and 6, which are all different from 7 and again 8. So it's hard to say which one is the 'best' because it comes down to which style you prefer. It's not a bad game, but it is goofy to long time players of the series who have certain expectations for how a Resident Evil game should be. (fixed camera angles, more survival horror elements) Which I understand why it bothers them but without going into spoilers RE6 is definitely more of a action game especially compared to older titles. 5 better. 6 is not too bad, depends on your personal taste. Pick whichever you like. Action and shooting: 5 better. Story: both are good, but 6 better. 5 feels like stopping a crisis before it happens, 6 is already a disaster outbreak.
